You will hear insights from a case study leveraging this methodology to quantify and monetize the value created through sustainability initiatives in stakeholder engagement, supplier relations, and innovation. With extensive experience as a transformative sustainable business strategist and environmental sustainability leader, Jenny Brusgul helps CohnReznick clients manage risk and develop and implement sustainability strategies that deliver value to their stakeholders. She helps businesses in many industries drive change by embedding sustainability into their ‘business as usual’ while also bringing cross-functional teams together to scale sustainability client solutions.

Jenny has helped clients develop ESG strategies in climate and decarbonization, social and risk management, value creation strategies, pre-acquisition investment strategies, post-deal integration roadmaps, and operational and performance improvement methodologies in the following industries: aerospace and defense, construction, consumer and retail, manufacturing, private equity, and technology.

Prior to joining CohnReznick, Jenny was the ESG Lead for a Big 4 firm and was recruited by a board member to develop the strategy and lead the execution of the firm’s U.S. ESG business. This included creating multifaceted client-facing solutions, establishing go-to-market protocols, directing training programs for over 29,000 employees, cultivating alliance partners, and developing thought leadership and insights programs to capitalize on the growing ESG market. Her efforts helped the firm build its ESG practice from the ground up.

Carolina OrtegaCarolina Ortega
Vice President of Sustainability and Communications

Milestone
Carolina oversees all aspects of carbon accounting, sustainability performance metrics, communications, and Milestone’s corporate culture. She is responsible for the development and roll-out of the company’s proven environmental and sustainability strategy and champions Milestone’s sustainability programs to all stakeholders, including C-suite officers, industry leaders, and boards of directors. In 2024 she was named an Influential Woman in Energy by Hart Energy.

A subject matter expert in sustainability and environmental impact, Carolina has more than 24 years of experience developing corporate-wide sustainability strategies in a variety of industries. Her expertise also includes climate change policy, social and environmental risk management, human rights impact assessments, stakeholder engagement planning, investor and rater engagement, sustainability reporting, social and environmental performance management systems, and risk assessment for new-country entries.

In addition to 18 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, she has worked in the consumer products and pharmaceutical industries.

Carolina earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics and Art History from Smith College. She received a Graduate Certificate from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University in New York City.

Carolina was born and raised in Mexico City, and now lives in Houston with her two daughters.

Chisara Ehiemere is the Senior Research Lead, Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI™) at the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, where she oversees ROSI methodology research and partnerships. Chisara has over 20 years of experience building socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable supply chains. Chisara has designed and implemented procurement and sourcing management strategies across multiple industries in her roles as Senior Assurance Director with Field to Market, Vice President of Certification at Fair Trade USA, and a consultant with AT Kearney and Accenture. Chisara holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
